Today was a much more balanced day. It actually balanced out the weekend, because all 3 workshops were devoid of the "business" of writing, and more about writing techniques. Also, it was only a half day, so I had time to play and relax a little.

Story Expo Day 2: Overloaded but Good

Day started at 8:00 and it is now 9:00. Full day. Again, sometimes it just instinct that pulled me to these sessions. Sometimes it worked, sometimes I wor Since I am not here to learn how to "make it" as a writer, I feel out of place if the presenter assumes that as a focus. I guess most people are here for that reason. Why am I here?  I want to write. From my heart and soul. So the last session of the day (Joe Eszterhas) brought me back to that. And made it all better.

Story Expo Day 1: Diversity

As at most conferences, you have to choose from a number of selections, which can be difficult. Without thinking too hard, I let my gut direct my choices and I did not regret one. 

Today there were 3 opportunities to choose, and a film.  Your choices become like a self-portrait, much like the choice of photos I made when I put together a collage frame recently. Here are the titles, the presenters, and my big take-aways.

Second Childhood or Real Adulthood?

This is my niece Caitlyn when she was younger, I'm going to say 4-ish. 

This summer, on my way home from Guam, I stopped over to see my family on Oahu. I spent the day cruising town on a Friday because everyone else was working. When I told my brother what I did that day, he made a comment, in a form of a question: 'Wait, you went to a crack seed store, then Gecko's, then Jelly's, Is there a theme here?" I caught his drift.
