A Few Glimpses of Oaxacan Food

Well, I know this is corn from a street vendor. I think we ordered it by saying we wanted it like the person before us. It was taken off the cob then there's cheese, some kind of sauce, some kind of chile, and lime. Yes, I loved it. 

When I was last here, my Spanish teacher said this was her favorite restaurant in Oaxaca. It's where she goes when she goes out to eat. I passed by a couple of times and there was always a line, and a very local clientele. We decided to try it. We waited less than 10 minutes. Recommend! 

Note to self: Take notes. What was this drink? It was good though. We got it at the Benito Juarez Market.

I had this, Caldo de Piedra, on my list the last time I was in Oaxaca. Thankful to have a non-picky companion to enjoy this with me - a for real stone soup. The hot stones are in the bowl, and the broth and seafood is added. The stones cook the soup. Recommend!
